The District of Barbering & Arts Academy, also known as DBA for short, is an Academy powered by Sinico Razors Barbershop LLC. Sinico Razors Barbershop was established in 2015 within Chesapeake Virginia. In 2022, the CEO, Founder, and Master Barber Jerry Russell and Wife Shauna Russell stepped out on faith and added The District of Barbering & Arts Academy to the mix. Although DBA started out small, it left a huge impact on the enrolled students who trusted the process and achieved the goal of becoming a Virginia Licensed Barber. DBA's goal is to raise a new generation of barbers with a skill and trade that will last a lifetime. A professional Barber is a profession that is always needed and is a respected profession that stands in demand over every generation. DBA stands out from the rest because we have created a curriculum that will empower each student to not only become a Licensed Barber but to become the Entrepreneur you've  always dreamed of. Within our courses we will instill each student with the tools and information needed to become a successful Licensed Barber in your Community and beyond.

Jerry is a highly skilled and accomplished Entrepreneur, Instructor, and Master Barber, with expertise in cutting hair for individuals of all backgrounds and hair types. He has been honing his craft since the age of 12 and has been officially Licensed since 2004. Starting his Barbering career from Kappatal Cuts in Norfolk Virginia, Jerry sought the adventure of creating his own shop with SinicoRazors Barber Shop. Sinico Razors Barber Shop opened in 2015 and serviced the community of Deep Creek and beyond. Jerry has had the honored privilege to cut hair for every function from weddings, proms, back to school events, senior living residents, hospital stays, sick and shut in clients, community events, homeless shelters, concerts and more. As a Licensed Master Barber, Jerry has had a passion for sharing his knowledge and skills with the next generation of barbers. He has established The District of Barbering and Arts Academy to provide education and training in the field to help uplift and empower our local communities and beyond. Creating an avenue of education and also job placement to help achieve financial stability using the skills and many conversations you will love...as a Licensed Barber.  

DBA had an overall graduation success rate of 89% in the 2022-2023 academic school year.
